Rooster Chicken Renews Proud DRUA Partnership on Four-Year Anniversary of Historic Sponsorship
November 14, 2025The Fiji Sports Council (FSC) today announced a renewed commitment to grassroots sports development through a strategic partnership with Rooster Chicken, who will proudly serve as the official sponsor of the Grassroots Fiji 7s Rugby Tournament and the FSC End of the Year Volleyball Festival.
The highly anticipated two-day event—scheduled for 18–19 December 2025 at the HFC Bank Stadium and FMF Gymnasium—underscores FSC’s mission to empower young athletes, strengthen community participation, and elevate locally driven sporting platforms across Fiji.
As two of the most vibrant grassroots competitions on the national sporting calendar, this year’s events will feature:
- 24 Men’s Teams, 12 Under-20 Teams, and 8 Women’s Teams in the Grassroots Fiji 7s; and
- 24 Men’s Teams and 16 Women’s Teams in the Volleyball Festival.
These competitions provide structured pathways for emerging talent, giving young athletes the opportunity to compete in professional facilities while fostering discipline, teamwork, and long-term personal and athletic development.
FSC Chief Executive Officer Mr. Gilbert Vakalalabure emphasized the significance of strong partnerships in advancing the Council’s vision for grassroots growth.
“We are incredibly grateful to Rooster Chicken for joining us as the official sponsor of these key grassroots initiatives. Their continued investment aligns with our commitment to developing young talent, strengthening community engagement, and building sustainable sports pathways in Fiji. This partnership enhances the athlete and spectator experience, ensuring these events remain cornerstone moments on our annual sporting calendar.”
Rooster Chicken, through its parent company Future Farms, is a long-standing supporter of sports development in Fiji and recognises the vital role of community-based competitions in identifying and nurturing future national and international stars.
“We are proud to support the Grassroots Fiji 7s and the FSC End of the Year Volleyball Festival,” said Rooster Chicken CEO, Mr. Stanley Raniga. “Our collaboration with the Fiji Sports Council reflects our belief in the power of sport to shape character, strengthen communities, and inspire the next generation. We remain committed to supporting grassroots programs that promote healthy living and meaningful opportunities for sportspeople across the country.”
This partnership reinforces the shared vision of FSC and Rooster Chicken: to champion grassroots athletes, expand participation, and ensure Fiji’s sports development ecosystem continues to flourish from the ground up.
